Morgan Stanley Invests $270 Million in Bitcoin ETFs
Morgan Stanley has released its quarterly report, revealing significant investments in recently approved Bitcoin spot ETFs.
According to the report filed with the SEC on Wednesday, Morgan Stanley acquired Bitcoin ETF shares worth over $270 million in the first quarter. The investment bank holds $269.9 million in GBTC from Grayscale and $2.3 million in ARKB from Ark Invest.
Andrew Peel, Head of Digital Asset Markets at Morgan Stanley, commented in January: "The acceptance of Bitcoin beyond speculative purposes is continuing to develop." The approval of Bitcoin spot ETFs represents "a potential paradigm shift in the global perception and use of digital assets."
This week, it was also reported that the state of Wisconsin, through its pension fund, holds Bitcoin ETF shares worth around $163 million.
According to Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer at Bitwise Asset Management, a total of 563 professional investment firms reported owning Bitcoin ETFs worth $3.5 billion in the first quarter.
