**How to prevent Cryptojacking**
|
|----------|

Cryptojacking is not different from other malware attack that are very subtle in nature, sometimes it very difficult to detect, all the same it's very important to know how to prevent this attack. There is a common saying I believe we are all familiar with which is...**Prevention is better than cure** and that's the focus of today's post.

• **Use enhanced/strong Cyber security programs**

Well I can't stress this enough. Cryptojacking is a cybercrime targeted at victims browsers and devices. You definitely need a very strong Cyber security protection and programs that can spot these threat and save you.

One should also ensure that such program is updated regularly, any slack on the path of an individual or organization as to carrying out this preventive measures would definitely expose them to this threat. A very good example of these programs is kerpesky total security. It's one of the prominent security programs we have out there. You could give it a try.

• **Use ad blockers**

One should ensure that he uses a very good ad blocker which would prevent unwarranted ad that are used in sending in this malware in disguise. My emphasis is on the word **good** ad blocker because it has also been discovered that some malicious ad still find their way around some random ad blocker. So one needs to be discreet in one's choice even if you have to pay to get a good one.

• **Block infected sites and pages**.

Any pages or site you have personally discovered that subtly host Cryptojacking activities should be blocked and avoided as much as possible. This is more like a temporary preventive measure as it still exposed you to more of them but the bottom line is you are aware of their plan, so keep blocking them as much as you can when discovered and avoid them like plague

• **Disable JavaScript.**

It's important to disable JavaScript when browsing online with your device. What this does is it prevent your device from being hijacked but then this singular act brings it limitation which is in terms of functionality, you might not enjoy your browsing experience to the fullest. But which would you prefer, to be hacked or to be protected? I believe the latter is your choice.
