The Mempool

Today I want to talk about an important aspect of the blockchain technology that is associated with the activities of witness and the verification of blocks on steem blockchain. Most people on the blockchain just write post and get voted without discovering More about the blockchain the participate actively on.

The mempool which turns out to be a very important technology in the block verification that we all know is handled by the witness, validators or even miners. Most blockchain technology uses like Bitcoin, STEEM and even ethereum uses the mempool, so therefore it's not only seen on steem blockchain.

Every node on a blockchain maintains its mempool, which acts as a container for transactions data gotten from the blockchain activities, although this data generated has not yet been added into the chain of blocks or as its populary called blockchain. The mempool is a very important tool that helps store data that should be verified and added into a blockchain technology.

In most cases transactions in the mempool experience competition just to be successfully added to the next block that would be verified, in that case the validators, witness or miners starts prioritizing those transaction according to their higher fees. This fees are mostly different in different blockchain, some tend to be higher than some things we lower and another to note is that the fees also varies even on same blockchain.

The mempool is dynamic a nature that is to say the size of a man pool is depend on the amount of data or transaction data that would be sent to a block and verified by a witness before adding it into the blockchain efficiently and effectively. Whenever the activities of the blockchain increases, then there is an expectant that the mempool would also increasing size so that it can accommodate or transaction data from the blockchain at that period of time without generating errors or crashing.

So as I was saying they size of the men pool could drastically reduce whenever the activities on the blockchain decreased drastically for example research have it that whenever sbd is back and the price of steam goes higher the tends to be higher activity and engagement and the platform than it used to be when the price of steam drops drastically.

The mempool is not just only used to store unprocessed and unverified transaction data, it is also used to generate data for the progress and the observation of the blockchain for example it helps generate details like the health of the network, the congestion limits, how active the witness, validators and miners are on the blockchain and the dynamic nature of the blockchain. In addition the mempool helps decide other vital details like to overall performance of the blockchain, the time taken to confirm a block and how efficient the team is.

The mempool is very important because it does a lot in handling the durability, reliability and efficiency of the blockchain at any period of time despite the amount of workload or activities on the blockchain at that period of time.
