Will quantum computers break current blockchains?

Over the past few years, quantum computing has been progressing faster than most people expected.

The big question is: What happens to blockchain encryption once quantum computers become powerful enough?

Most blockchains today rely on cryptographic algorithms that could theoretically be broken by quantum attacks in the future. Some researchers even call this potential moment “Q-Day.” I recently came across a project building a quantum-secure Layer-1 blockchain designed specifically to handle this risk. They’re also running a node sale where early participants can run validator nodes.

From what I read:

Total nodes: 88,888

Tier-based pricing

Early tiers cheaper

Node operators help secure the network

The project is called Quranium.

Curious what the community thinks: Do you believe quantum computing is a real threat to blockchain? Are quantum-resistant chains necessary? Would love to hear some opinions from people who understand the cryptography side of things.
