This is one of the recent updates in which the leading crypto exchange founder is sentenced to 4 months in prison. He has been struggling with legal elections and he was in the US even after paying a huge penalty amount. Earlier it was expected that the Department of Justice would put him behind bars for three years which is surely a long time. But now he has finally been sentenced to four months and he will be free.
I know that even 4 months is not a small time and that too in Jail its not at all. All this has been done because he was not compliant with certain AML rules and because of that now he has to spend some time in Jain but I think this is also an example of other exchanges that must be compliant with the regulations. FTX exchange founder is also in prison and I believe that this is a good example that if somebody follows malpractice in the business even in Crypto then he will not be spared by the government. Undoubtedly the Binance exchange founder has done great work in ultimately rules are rules and he has to abide by that.
It is one of the biggest international exchanges and still it is reliable because people are using it a lot even though the founder is in prison for some reason. The customer funds safety approach has been in the business since the beginning and this is an important part however some rules are not followed as per the law and this is why this action has been taken against the founder but hopefully such things will not be repeated in future by any crypto exchange founder.
