My personal reaction to the Tether issue

How are you all? I read a piece of news today, and to be honest, I was a little surprised, and I thought, let's write a few things on my own. The news was about Tether. S&P Global lowered its rating to “Weak”. The reason is that Tether's reserves contain some risky assets, and they don't give much clear information about this.

The first thought that came to my mind after reading the news was—we hold stablecoins out of trust. Now, if the risk increases in the reserves, then naturally, we will be a little worried. Another thing that seemed bad—the report said that Tether also has Bitcoin in its reserves, and its amount is much larger than before. Bitcoin keeps fluctuating, so having it in the reserves could be a problem—that's not unusual.

Of course, Tether's CEO has dismissed the whole thing. He says that these are propaganda from the old financial system. Tether is very strong, they are profitable, and everything is going well. There is some logic to that, but to be honest, I never believe in these things one-sidedly.

My thinking is very simple. If there is a big company, there needs to be transparency. Those of us who use USDT should clearly inform them of this information. Because in the end, we think about the safety of our money.

Personally, I don't panic when I see such news, but I keep it in mind. It is better to have a little idea of the risks when using anything. Blindly believing in it can cause harm, but being aware can help avoid a lot of trouble.

Finally, I want to say that this is my own perspective, whether someone believes it or not, I at least stop and think when such news comes. Do you think about this news? Or do you not care at all?
