Cryptocurrency is a type of digital currency whose production, storage or exchange process is not controlled by a single institution (such as a government or central bank). It works through a computer network in a decentralized process.
Currently, there are more than 25,000 types of digital currencies around the world. But it wasn't long when this digital currency or cryptocurrency started its journey.
Bitcoin is the world's first cryptocurrency. On October 31, 2008, an individual or group under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto published an article on how Bitcoin works using the blockchain network.

SHA-256 hash function is used in Bitcoin mining. Later, the journey of cryptocurrency started with the discovery of Namecoin, Litecoin, Peercoin in 2012.
Some of the popular cryptocurrencies of today are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, BNB, Dogecoin, Cardano etc.
