Kraken sent an email to their clients in the EEA region about Futures offering to Kraken Pro.
In order to trade Futures, a certification by Kraken is needed and Tax ID must be provided too.

We’re excited to announce our Futures offering to Kraken clients in the EEA region!
With our Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) license, you’ll be able to keep trading Futures in Kraken Pro, whilst benefiting from the highest level of compliance and regulatory standards.
In order to trade Futures going forward, we require you to update your Kraken account by January 30th, 2026, to continue trading.
During this quick process which takes as little as 5 minutes, we'll ask a few questions to classify your knowledge of Futures trading. These relate to regulatory requirements applicable to the offering of Kraken Futures and will result in you being categorized as either a "professional investor" or a "retail investor", as defined under MIFID II. Depending on the classification, there are different requirements and rules for your account. For more information on this please see our dedicated Support Centre article. You’ll also be required to provide your Tax ID information.
Please note that some assets will not be available under MiFID, such as Coin-M (inverse) contracts. Any open positions on non supported assets will be set to reduce only and open orders cancelled. All Inverse contracts will be set to reduce only. For a full list of available assets please check here. Retail clients will have a leverage of 10x, so make sure the account is sufficiently collateralised to avoid liquidations.

Please complete these actions before January 30th, 2026. If this is not completed by this date, your positions will be closed and your access to Futures trading will be restricted until you complete the appropriateness test. You will still be able to access other products, including spot trading, staking, and Kraken Wallet.
