Rain, With Occasional Sunbreaks

A substantial rain has been falling all day…

I don't really mind the rain; it doesn't make me particularly unhappy and I am always grateful that it waters everything and makes this part of the world as green as it is.

As evening sets in there is a lightening of the leaden grey skies out at the horizon and the sun filters in. Its fading rays have not reached this particular part of the coast but I can see sun on other places out in the distance.

I am grateful that I get to sit at my Home Office window and look out at this ever changing scenery; grateful to be alive even as I slip into a reflective mood.

Perhaps we will have a beautiful sunset; I feel gratitude for being able to break from the work I do to just look outside and take this in. I feel gratitude for the fact that I don't have to get in a car and sit in traffic for an hour each day, each way, going to some soulless job in a square glass and metal building with no windows for the average worker.

As it turned out, we did not end up with a spectacular sunset, as the clouded pulled over once more and the rain resumed.

Even so, I remain grateful for the moment of looking at the brightness on the horizon.

It is a reminder to be grateful for the "small moments" of our lives, even while we navigate the chaos and unrest of the greater world. And yes, the strangeness of everything happening here in the USA at the moment is making me feel a bit anxious.

Not to mention the strangeness in the financial markets. Including the fact that the Cryptosphere seems to be feeling the pressure, as well.

So is my personal financial situation.

Perhaps that the important reminder that cannot be ignored: Even if we try to ignore the greater zoo around us, we will invariably end up being affected by it. It might not be us directly, but I am affected because my customers are worried and suddenly not spending money at all.

Which, of course, affects me because I have bills to pay, from companies and service providers that do not care that part of the world are — figuratively speaking — on fire. They just want their payment.

Sometimes it's not easy to keep a positive attitude!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great remainder of your week!
